Today is my cousin Pau's birthday. He is 12 now, with pizza for his classmates during recess. He refuses to be called "Paolo," just "Pau" as in Pau D' Arco since his complete name is really Paul Armand.

Pau, now that you're 12, I hope you study harder now. Teeheehee. But come to think of it, when I was your age, I was just as distracted as you are, only, less playful. I hated Hekasi, too because I found it boring. If they taught it in English, I would have fared better but being that we're trying to be nationalistic and all, the subject turned out to be one loOong bedtime story. I loved my Science class because my teacher made the subject interesting and it was fun to draw the kinds of bacteria in my notebook. I didn't like PE any more than Hekasi but you, on the other hand is doing a whole lot better than I did back then considering that you're now a varsity player. All those practices with your Tito Raymond in the Brig did payoff, thank goodness.

Pau, now that you're 12, I hope you take your studies more seriously; as seriously as you take Warcraft and Dota, and girls and badminton tryouts.

So there, let's drink to that!

Lurve,
your cousin Coco (who's way older than you and should know better. Nyar)

It's weird how Maki, Jane and I were born on the same month and with our birthdays not too far apart. Maki will have hers on the 29th, me on the 28th and Jane on the 24th. When Aileen celebrates her birthday, it signals that our birthdays are nearing.

I only have one birthday wish, though.  Come to think of it, I no longer remember what I wished for last year or the years before that. Much more, if those wishes ever came true.

I realize it's not the same without you. The place where we work is a million times sadder without you. Gad Madame, I miss you.

Happy 9th Burday Google!
Oh thank you for the power to venerate Google here! Google is LOVE.

The religion of art, like the religion of politics, was born from the ruins of Christianity. Art inherited from the old religion the power of consecrating things and endowing them with a sort of eternity; museums are our temples, and the objects displayed in them are beyond history. Politics—or more precisely, Revolution—co-opted the other function of religion: changing human beings and society. Art was an asceticism, a spiritual heroism; Revolution was the construction of a universal church.

A moment frozen in time.

I can hardly keep up. Everything's on hyperfast mode. August is here. Hours before, I was only watching someone blow her pink birthday candles.

Now, as I stare at my windows, the day is nearly done.

It was only during lunch that I realized that I can never do away with cigarettes and before I can completely wonder why I need to induce a heady feeling to keep me sane sometimes, I'm swished into here and there and another date is finished.

Where the heck did July go? The world is turning too fast and if it doesn't step on its brakes, I'm going to get dizzy. I'm not holding on to anything, damnit

Slow down, please. I need a pitstop.

I got invited in an interesting Yahoo Group today and this was created by JR (aledcruz). The invite was sent two weeks ago but since I don’t frequently check my Yahoo mail, I only noticed it today. There were already a bunch of members, mostly from Joum and the profile was pretty amusing. Haha.

There were a few files already uploaded and one was entitled Twelve Wishes written by the moderator himself. As I was excitedly downloading the file to read the contents, Yahoo prompted me for a password and too bad I had no idea what it was! Xai help.

The title got me thinking about what I should be wishing for my birthday – the doable ones, I mean and after some minutes of pondering, here are the twelve:

1. Get a life. Haha.
2. Get a book.
3. Get another savings account.
4. Get the frap I “won” from [info]xalai  .
5. Get the stamps from Alex– she has such a cute name.
6. Get a high-resolution cam.
7. Get The Art of Looking Sideways by Alan Fletcher.
8. Watch Spiderman 3. I mean, what else is there to watch? :P
9. Get a set of Rocking Glasses.
10. Get the actual framed Gicle Print below. (Doable ba?)
11.  Watch Ratatouille, Ocean's 13, Pirates, Lucky you.
12.

You guys can post those twelve wishes too even if you aren't celebrating your birthdays anytime soon! I’m curious!

This coming Saturday, I’ll be turning 22! And as I sit in this cubicle, taking a quick reflection over the past year, I’m completely convinced this is the fastest year yet.

It flew past me in a jiffy that as soon as I woke up in one of its mornings, I find myself waking up in a new one again. I had barely savored one day and when I peek at the clock I see that it is past 6 pm already.

This has been scary for me especially during my first few weeks of experiencing the quickened pace of the everyday because it feels like losing something special without even discovering what made it special in the first place.

Marc believes that the everyday is a new day no matter how repetitive the entire week is and I used to believe that, too. Now that I'm a member of the workforce, I’m not so sure anymore.

Anyway. I also believed back then that birthday wishes were only for kids and desperate people (how cynical is this!) so I don’t remember a time that I made a wish over my ceremonial birthday cakes ever since my parents ceased throwing kiddie parties for me. Now, I’m making one. Because I’m officially desperate now. Harhar. Officially desperate to find a job that would at least make me discern the difference between a Monday and a Saturday. So help me oh gawd.

I have no idea why people think im an only child.
I actually have two younger siblings, whom i havent seen for what seems like years.

This coming tuesday, my sister will be turning 19 and it is soOoOo unfortunate i wouldnt be there in baguio when she does.

Her name is Maru, but oftentimes it's Mawoo or Marshie or Marshews (she loves marshmallows).

I call her Faroo because during my craziest moments everyone's names start with "f". mayo to feiow, marc to farc, erson to ferson, and then its farket! farket! and so its faroo to me.

If there is one person i miss terribly, its her. because i miss being with her, as when we are together we indulge in long conversations that go on until the wee hours of the morning. During these moments, she persistently tells me im abnormal because i didnt have a childhood. shes the one with straight, shiny hair and bangs that look good on her while i get to have the loser's curls. she has fangs, an ear piercing and dimples while i dont/cant have any of those.
